Prison Break Season 2 Subtitles 720p Vs 1080p The second season of the action thriller Prison Break premiered for its ten-episode run on September 22nd, 2006. The story follows protagonist Michael Scofield's escape from death row. Released on April 4th, 2007 to universal acclaim, the show continued to garner high ratings throughout its three-year run. Though these numbers began to decline in 2008 shortly after episode 8, when "The Final Break" aired on December 15th, it recovered during the show's final episodes when they aired in 2009 under a different format. With a total of 16 episodes, the show concluded its second season on December 17th, 2006 on FOX. The production of a third season was announced during a special television event in January 2009. It was later confirmed that the series would continue under a different format and become a feature film, but had not been officially green-lit at the time this article was written. An earlier draft of the script for Prison Break Season 2 involved the murder of Hodges' family, who were part of a conspiracy to run him down by his wife Laura Scofield. In an editorial from June 2006, Michael Scofield's brother Lincoln reveals that he has been ordered to murder her. A few weeks later, it is revealed that the murder was faked and she is still alive. The name of the character Theodore 'T-Bag' Bagwell was changed to Theodore 'T-Bag' Bagwell and his role has been slightly extended. Rob Knepper, who plays T-Bag, has stated in interviews that he had originally auditioned for the role of Michael Scofield, but was offered the part of T-Bag instead. Knepper has stated that he believed this offer came about due to his resemblance to Scofield's portrayer Wentworth Miller. He has also noted similarities between himself and Bagwell, which are the reasons why he decided to accept his contract with FOX. A new character, Dr. Edmund Burrell, was introduced during the season. He is portrayed by actor Kirk Acevedo, who was not originally cast in the new season. The role of Burrell was created after Fox ordered an additional four episodes of "Prison Break". Acevedo had previously appeared as Dr. Donald Westphall in the 2005 NBC series "Burn Notice". The American limited edition (DVD) set of the second season featured bonus material such as deleted scenes, bloopers and extended cuts of several episodes. It also contained extended scenes for ten episodes on Blu-ray Disc and DVD, which were based on unaired scenes that were first shown at Comic Con 2007. The season premiere "Manhunt" attracted an audience of 8.18 million viewers. The season finale, "The Final Break", was broadcast a week later and pulled in 8.37 million viewers. The DVD release was released three months later and achieved first place in the US home video sales chart, where it remained for two weeks. In Germany, the set ranked as third for the year 2007 on DVD sales charts, with a total of 297,000 DVD releases as of May 10th, 2008 from German distributor Koch Media GmbH & Co KG . cfa1e77820
